Chief labour commissioner directed IBA and bank unions to resolve difference in 15 days

Central Chief Labour Commissioner (CLC) has advised Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the bank to resolve their differences over wage negotiations in the next 15 days.

The issue of delay in bipartite wage settlement was discussed Monday at a joint meeting between IBA, bank unions and officers from department of financial services held in Mumbai.

It was instructed to continue hold several rounds of discussions so as to resolve the differences positively in next 15 days and apprise the conciliation officer about the progress.

IBA and the unions are negotiating on wage settlement of bankers and have hold several rounds of talks over the last one-a-half years but did not reach the final settlement. The 11th bipartite settlement is due from November 1, 2017.

Bankers’ union are also demanding for 5 days banking to which IBA is not agreeable.
